Twix Muddy Buddies
Classic muddy buddies get switched up with Twix chocolate caramel flavors for this wonderful treat!
I grew up with an older cousin who made Orange Julius and muddy buddies when she babysat us (we called them puppy chow). Muddy buddies are so nostalgic for me and the world of food blogging really opened up all the different possibilities of flavor combos for this awesome treat. This recipe has no peanut butter but the chocolate caramel combo with actual Twix bars and the shortbread mixed in with the powdered sugar is so insanely smart. If you are a fan of muddy buddies and Twix candy, you have to try this recipe out!
What You Need:
4 cups Rice Chex cereal
1 bag (12 oz) milk chocolate chips
15 Kraft caramel squares or 1/2 cup caramel bits
1 Tbsp. heavy cream
6 shortbread cookies
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 Twix bars, chopped
Directions:
In a large bowl, add cereal and set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl OR a double boiler over the stove, melt milk chocolate chips.
Pour melted chocolate over the cereal and toss gently to coat.
Melt caramel and heavy cream together and drizzle over the chocolate covered cereal, tossing lightly to coat.
In a food processor, pulse shortbread cookies into fine crumbs.
