Spicy Hummus Queso Dip

A simple but incredible queso dip with spicy hummus for some great depth of flavor!

Hummus is a newish food to us. A few years ago, I tried it because why not and I really liked it. My daughter was quick to try it and after a little bit of convincing, I got Nick to try it, too. I knew I had to make this recipe for New Year’s Eve (yes, I’m beyond behind on posting these - this is from NYE 2020). The spicy hummus was so dang fantastic and I would love to make this with different variations of hummus and mix-ins. Possibly even different cheeses! The sky is the limit here. We did carrots and celery sticks - but I could see pita chips being great with this too.

What You Need:

  • 1/2 cup Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

  • For serving: cilantro, chips, and/or vegetables

Directions:

  1. In a small pot, whisk together hummus and milk and bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in cheese by the handful until melted and fully incorporated.

  3. Stir in tomato and serve immediately with cilantro, chips, and/or vegetables.
