M&M Sugar Cookies
These soft and puffy sugar cookies are packed with M&Ms!
I am no stranger to an M&M cookie. They aren’t my absolute favorite but I still really love them. This recipe is a little unique because it is a sugar cookie dough that has cream of tartar in it, so it’s this lovely combination of a sugar cookie flavor with almost a snickerdoodle like texture BUT with M&Ms. My youngest is particularly a huge fan of M&M cookies, so he was all about these!
What You Need:
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cup plain M&Ms, divided
Directions:
In a stand mixer bowl, cream together butter and sugar with a paddle attachment.
Then add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until just combined.
Add baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and flour. Mix until just combined.
Stir in 3/4 cup M&Ms.
Scoop 2 Tbsp. balls of dough onto parchment or silicone mat lined cookie sheets.
Top each cookie with 4 to 5 additional M&Ms.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheet before removing to a wire rack.
