Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts
These caramelized lemon garlic brussels sprouts will knock your socks off.
I am so disappointed that I missed out on brussels sprouts for a majority of my life because they get such a bad rap for being “gross”. I love brussels so so much and try to make them as much as the rest of my family will tolerate. I love a good browned erring on the burnt side on my brussels and this recipe fit the bill. Plus I really loved the lemon garlic flavor profile.
What you need:
1 lb. fresh brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 lemon, zested and juiced
Salt and pepper to taste
3 Tbsp. shredded Gruyere or Parmesan cheese
Directions:
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium high heat.
Add halved brussels sprouts and saute for 7 to 8 minutes on each side until the outer part is caramelized brown and inside is soft.
Add garlic about halfway through cooking.
After brussels are cooked, reduce heat to low and add lemon juice, zest, and salt and pepper.
Stir to combine and then top with cheese and serve!
