Alton’s Waffles
The perfect recipe for fluffy, light buttermilk waffles every time!
I have made many waffle recipes over the years and I definitely have some favorites that I like to make occasionally. This recipe is definitely getting added to the repertoire because it was easy and made wonderful, light, fluffy waffles.
What You Need:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
3 large eggs, beaten
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
Directions:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
In a separate bowl, beat together eggs with melted butter. Then mix in the buttermilk.
Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Let rest for 5 minutes.
Ladle batter into a preheated waffle iron.
Cook according to waffle iron directions until golden brown on both sides.
